Veterans & Military
After graduating from high school, my husband Matt joined the US Army. However, years later, he was diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease, which was determined to be a 100% service-connected disability. Through my experience caring for Matt, I gained familiarity with the VA and its various systems.

As an end-of-life doula, I can provide emotional and spiritual support for active-duty military and veterans who have been diagnosed with a 100% service-connected disability, or living with a terminal diagnosis. I can help these individuals navigate the complex emotions that may arise when facing the end of life, such as fear, anger, and sadness. I can also provide support to the patient's family members and help them cope with the stress and uncertainty that comes with caring for a loved one with a serious illness.

Additionally, as an end-of-life doula, I can assist with advance care planning, helping the patient and their family members understand their treatment options and make decisions about their end-of-life care. I can help ensure that the patient's wishes are respected and that they receive care that aligns with their values and beliefs.

End-of-life doulas can also help connect patients and their families with community resources and support services, such as grief counseling and financial assistance programs. For military and veteran patients, I can help you navigate the specific resources available to you through the
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other organizations.

If you are a veteran seeking assistance with navigating the VA's complex paperwork and procedures, I am available for consultation. With my training and experience, I have helped veterans from all backgrounds and would be honored to guide you on your journey.
