My Approach

In 2009, when my husband was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, we did something that is still uncommon in today's society - we had extensive conversations about death. We made plans for the future, including his funeral arrangements, and discussed what a "good death" meant to him. We explored all the options, including where he wanted to be, whom he wanted by his side and his burial preferences.

 

We talked about everything.

 

My hope is to encourage you to do the same. You don't have to wait for a terminal illness diagnosis to plan for your end of life. We all have ideas about how we want our final moments to be, and I can help you explore and clarify what those wishes mean for you.

As a Christian faith-based doula, I am happy to assist you in exploring your spirituality, reading the Bible with you or for you, and praying with you and/or your loved ones. However, I respect all faiths and can also refrain from discussions of faith if that is your preference.
