Vigil Planning

A vigil is a sacred time of presence, connection, and support during a person's final hours or days of life. While every vigil is unique, it offers an opportunity for loved ones to gather, share memories, express their love, and create a peaceful environment that honors the wishes of the dying person.

As an End-of-Life Doula, I can help families thoughtfully plan and prepare for this experience. Together, we'll discuss who should be present, any spiritual, religious, or cultural traditions you wish to incorporate, and how to create a meaningful atmosphere that reflects your loved one's values and preferences.

I can also help prepare family members for the physical and emotional changes that often occur as death approaches, offering guidance, reassurance, and support throughout the process.

During the vigil, my role is to provide a calming presence, facilitate communication when needed, and support both the dying individual and their loved ones. Whether through conversation, music, prayer, quiet companionship, or simply holding space, I help families navigate this profound transition with greater peace, comfort, and confidence.

A vigil is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about creating space for connection, honoring a life well lived, and ensuring that no one has to face those final moments alone.
